This past weekend we came across a real find! A "kraut cutter"! Okay--I know most people our age don't get too excited about such a find, but we have spent enough time cutting cabbage with the food processor and by hand to know how much time this "ole timer" will save!! All we have to do is place the cabbage in the box and slide it back and forth over the blades! Can't wait to try it out--next year!
Not many make the good ole' kraut in the crocks either, but when one marries into a family that make pierogies then one must learn to make sauerkraut! (Pierogies will be another entry on another day)

Cool! I have the kraut crock to go with it. LaRon's grandparents gave it to us when we lived in their old house for a few years. It's a 10 gallon one in really good shape. I really can't fathom anyone liking kraut enough to make it but anyhow... :)
My kids agree with you, Amy! They see no point in making the stuff!
