Salsa Makin'

We are still loving our new kitchen! All summer we were looking forward to canning season, just to make sure everything still worked out great in it! We used every inch of it, but it was so much easier to work in compared to our old kitchen. We even put the pot filler to use--it was installed so it would go over the top of our tallest canner.

Warren's came down and it was definitely an all day project. While we were cutting up tomatoes we put all the juice in the turkey fryers and cooked all that down. We had two turkey fryers going outside.

The kids had fun outside while the adults had fun inside. They walked over to the dairy and had ice cream. Lauren even learned how to drive the 4-wheeler. Carlin said he's staying off the road when she gets her learners permit!!

By the end of the day we had 175 pints of salsa!

This last week while Brenda was here we made 50 quarts of tomato soup. The boys took turns cranking the juicer. It was fun watching Kyle--he talked about as fast as he cranked. We used the muck bucket once again and had 12 gallons of juice in it! It is a fun family project!

This really is fun! I'm having a time getting my pix to come up in the right places on mine.... Your bike ride looks fun too. I've been working on riding Jeanne's.
